Dunn Tire Raceway Park Planning for 2010

Lancaster, New York – Although Opening Day is over six months away, the management and staff of Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) have been hard at work crafting both their stock car and drag schedules for the 2010 season.  A complete schedule is expected to be released sometime after the first of the year, although some information about the season has already been decided.

The stock cars will take to the famed 5/8th oval for approximately 12 to 13 shows, with the 52nd season of racing beginning on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 and ending the weekend of September 17th, 18th, & 19th, 2010 with the 22nd Annual US Open.  Stock cars will continue to race on their traditional Saturday night slot at the facility although some Saturdays during the season will be devoted to other events.  DTRP stock car racers will have the night off on June 12th, June 26th, July 3rd, July 24th (tentatively), and August 7th.

Dunn Tire Raceway Park will run a core show consisting of SST's, Street Stocks, and 4 Cylinders with other divisions rounding out each week’s event.  The Modifieds will return to their Western New York home at least once per month, with the Race of Champions Modified Tour making a stop on June 19th and at the US Open.

“The Modifieds are an integral part of Dunn Tire Raceway Park and we are looking forward to putting together a great series”, commented Director of Stock Car Events Lori Overdorf.

Talks are also underway to bring back the Late Models for a multiple race series at DTRP after a one year absence.

“We are looking forward to working with other local tracks and coordinating the Late Model schedule so that we can optimize participation in the proposed series”, stated Overdorf.

The DTRP ¼ mile inner oval will be a busy surface in 2010 as the TQ Midgets will be back for a number of shows during the season.  In addition, DTRP staff is working with the INEX Legends in an effort to build upon their inaugural race at the 2009 US Open with more shows in the 2010 season.

The 2010 schedule will include the traditional DTRP theme nights such as Autograph Night, Heroes Homecoming, Kids Day, and Military Appreciation Night.  Plans are underway to expand the Emergency Responders Night and add a Kids Little League Night in addition to other special events.  Also, each DTRP division will run at least one long distance race during the season, with that division highlighted as the headline race of the evening.

More information will be forthcoming in the days and weeks ahead so stay tuned to the official DTRP website – www.dunntireracewaypark.com– for complete and up to date news.  Director of Stock Car Events, Lori Overdorf, can also be reached at 716-207-2824 or at loverdorf@hotmail.comwith questions or comments as well.

The Galluzzi's would like to thank all the fans and racers for their support in the 2009 season.  DTRP needs your support to put the shows on that we do. Lets hope for a dry hot summer in 2010. We have many more events planned. For example...bigger Mud events, Tractor Pulls with Empire State Puller, Thursday Night Live music and dancing, and the 2nd Annual Rib Bash.  Also.... the return of our SUNDAY NIAGARA weekend event, the US Open, ROC races, Bike Night, the Battle of The BORDER, and our Wednesday Shredd and Ragan Cruise night
Thank you all and we are looking forward to 2010!!
