Military in Uniform, Post Race Pit Party and Charlie Warner Street Stock Memorial race and Kid's Day highlight Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend racing
Looks like the weather is going to be awesome, again, for this Saturday, May 26 at the famed 5/8-mile oval in Lancaster, NY. On the schedule for the night are the Gateway Recycling Sportsman, Charlie Warner Street Stock Memorial Race, Toyota of Batavia Four Cylinders and the first visit, of three, of the Six Cylinders. We kick off the night with the Crave of Upstate Farms Big Wheels.
Adult tickets are $12 and kids 15 and under are FREE FREE FREE, plus - it's Kid's Day. ANY active, reserve or retired military person who shows up in uniform gets in absolutely FREE in honor of Memorial Day.
Kid's Day activities include a face painter, Bounce House starting at 5:45 p.m. and Kiddie Race Car Rides from 6:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Street Stock race will be run in memory of former serviceman, FOAR Score member and 50/50 ticket seller, Charlie Warner, who lost his battle with cancer in the off-season. His family will be on hand to present the checkered flag to the Street Stock winner. They will be joined in the stands by folks from the SPCA, where Charlie donated a lot of his time.
After the races, be sure to stick around and head for the Post Race Pit Party when the final checkered flag flies. We're bringing in the Roaming Buffalo food truck, a DJ will be cranking out the tunes (with Karaoke, if you want to sing) and the pit concession will be open for beer, pop and water. It's a great time to meet the stars in the cars!
Camping is free in the front lot, too. So, bring the friends and family in from out of town and spend the Saturday of Memorial Day with them at Dunn Tire Raceway Park.
Back gate opens at 3 p.m., Front Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing action kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Get Back to YOUR Track, we're waiting on you!

Country 106.5 FM and Dunn Tire Raceway Park partner up for Cruise Nights in 2012
LANCASTER, N.Y. (March 23, 2012) -- WYRK 106.5 FM and Dunn Tire Raceway Park are pleased to announce the racing facility’s popular Wednesday night cruise night will return for the 2012 season.
Partnering with the No. 1 radio station in Western New York will make an already big event even larger in 2012. All the popular aspects of the event such as Grudge Racing, Burn Out Contest, Custom Car Show and Awards are all returning this year; along with some new initiatives.
WYRK’s popular On-Air Personalities John LaMond and The Dean of Country will host the events throughout the season. The “WYRK Cruise & Bike Night” at Dunn Tire Raceway Park begins in May and continues through the end of September.
“This is a great partnership for our track in many ways,” said Ralph Galluzzi, CEO of DTRP. “I am looking forward to having the listeners and fans of Country 106.5 FM come out and enjoy Wednesday nights at out racing facility; along with our regulars who have been a part of cruise night for years.
“We’ve seen the night get bigger and bigger since we started. Now, with a partner like WYRK on board with us, this is going to make our event the place to be on Wednesday nights in WNY. We’re looking forward to having a great time with our cruise and bike people; and WYRK.”
The partnership also includes promoting the IHRA Drag Racing events on Friday and the Stock Car races on Saturday at DTRP on WYRK.
“WYRK is excited to partner with Dunn Tire Raceway,” said Wendy Lynn, Program Director of WYRK. “We have always talked about putting on an event that combines country music with classic cars and competitive racing. Both WYRK’s John LaMond and The Dean of Country ride motorcycles. The raceway is a perfect venue and facility to have, what is sure to be, the best place to be on Wednesday nights during the cruising season.”
